CYA SUPPLY CO. IWB HOLSTER

  • IWB Holster - Inside The Waistband - Easily Adjustable Retention Pressure & Carry Angle (Cant) 0-15 Degrees

  • Posi-Click' Audible Retention Lock System - Sweat Guard covers full length of slide
  • Made in USA - WE STAND BY OUR QUALITY: 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, No questions asked return policy and Lifetime Warranty.

The CYA Supply Co. IWB holster is made from a thermoplastic called Boltaron. It’s sized perfectly for the Walther PPS M2 but is only suitable for a right-hand draw. If your PPS M2 has a light or laser attachment, it will not fit into this holster.

According to CYA Supply Co., the Boltaron material they used for the holster is superior to the Kydex used in most hard holsters. It’s a harder material and is more impact resistant than Kydex, and is less likely to warp in high temperatures, making it a more durable, long-lasting holster than its competitors.

The holster is slightly recessed compared to most thermoplastic holsters, so your draw and re-holstering will be smoother. This will leave less wear and tear on your gun over time. It does audibly click when it’s in place, so you can be assured that it provides adequate retention.

The cant of the holster can be adjusted from 0 to 15 degrees with a hex wrench, included with the holster. The hex wrench can also adjust the retention screws on the holster for a custom fit.

Positives recap for this product:

  • Boltaron material is highly durable and less likely to scuff your gun.
  • Slightly recessed fit for less wear and tear on your gun.
  • Adjustable cant and retention with the provided hex wrench.

Negatives recap for this product

  • Not suitable for left-handed shooters.
  • Some reviewers complained that the clip was a little too snug on their gun belts.

FIERCE DEFENDER IWB KYDEX HOLSTER – “THE WINTER WARRIOR SERIES”

The Fierce Defender holster is made from Kydex, a hard thermoplastic, so it’s precisely molded to fit the Walter PPS M2. The holster covers the trigger for a safe carry.

The frame of the holster is generously sized on the back-side to cover the entire slide of the fun. This protects your gun from sweat and maintains the finish.

The opening of the holster is slightly flared to help with quick holstering and drawing. Owners have really favored this design choice because they don’t feel like they have to slam their weapon down to get it to click, nor do they have to yank with excessive force to draw. However, it still holds your firearm snugly, providing adequate retention.

The Fierce Defender has adjustable cant and retention like the CYA Supply Co. holster and is also only available for right-hand shooters.

The edges of the holster are well rounded for comfort, so you won’t have to worry about it digging into your body or abrading your skin as you move around. It’s also light-weight, so it’ll be comfortable to carry and easy to conceal.

Positives recap for this product:

  •  The opening is slightly flared for easy drawing and holstering.
  • Adjustable cant and retention.
  • Light-weight and comfortable to wear.

Negatives recap for this product:

  • Not suitable for left-handed shooters.

  • IWB Walther PPS M1 holster for concealed carry.

The Concealment Express IWB holster is made from Kydex like the Fierce Defender. Like the other two holsters we’ve reviewed, it features an adjustable cant and retention. Unlike the CYA Supply Co. holster, it requires only a Phillips screwdriver to adjust.

This is the first holster on our list that can be ordered in either a left or right-hand option. This is great not only for left-handed shooters but is also appealing to those who like to conceal at their weak-side appendix for a crossbody draw.

The company keeps its holster designs simple, so this holster weighs in at a mere 2.5 ounces. It’s comfortable for everyday wear and the minimalist design makes it easier to conceal because it causes little to no printing.

Like both the CYA Supply Co. and the Fierce Defender, the Concealment Express features an elongated body-side to protect your weapon from sweat and scratches. However, unlike the Fierce Defender, the edges of this holster are not as rounded or smoothed. For some people, this may make it a little less comfortable to wear without an undershirt between the holster and your skin.

Positives recap for this product:

  • Cant and retention are adjustable with a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Slim, minimal design for a light but durable holster.
  • The holster comes in both left and right-hand varieties.

Negatives recap for this product:

  • The edges of the holster aren’t as rounded as other options, so it may be less comfortable.

BARSONY NEW BROWN LEATHER TUCKABLE IWB HOLSTER

Barsony Brown Leather Tuckable IWB Holster for...
  • Precision stitching; lightweight; made from premium cowhide leather.
  • Perfect for concealment without jacket. Tuck your shirt in between the belt clip and holster for ultimate concealment.
  • Accepts belts up to one and three quarter inch width.
  • The picture shows a right hand draw- strong-side right side holster.

The Barsony holster is the only leather holster on our list. It is also the first tuckable option we’ve featured, which means this holster can be worn with casual attire or business attire. It can truly be an everyday carry holster for those whose job requires them to dress up.

Like the Concealment Express holster, the Barsony comes in a left and a right-hand option, making it suitable for any shooter in any IWB concealment position. Like the other three holsters, the Barsony has a sweat shield to protect your gun.

Leather holsters typically require a break-in period to mold perfectly to your firearm. To streamline this process, Barsony offers holsters in seven different sizes. However, some Barsony owners complained that the sizes are not specific enough for their gun so the holster they selected ended up being too large. This can be a safety issue if the holster isn’t snug enough to provide adequate retention.

Many gun owners prefer leather holsters over thermoplastic holsters because they’re more comfortable against the skin, especially for inside the waistband carrying. With regular use, the leather will continue to break in and soften even further.

Positives recap for this product:

  • The leather is very comfortable for IWB carry.
  • The holster is tuckable, so it can be worn with any type of attire.
  • The holster comes in both left and right-hand varieties.

Negatives recap for this product:

  • The sizing isn’t as customized as the thermoplastics, so it may be a bit big for some gun models.

Alien Gear has a reputation for high-quality holsters and their prices reflect that, making the Cloak the most expensive IWB holster on our list. Like the Barsony and Concealment Express, the Cloak is available in both left and right-hand models so it can be worn in a variety of locations.

The Cloak is the only pancake-style holster on our list. The backing, which sits against your body, is made from a strong but slightly flexible material. It also features Alien Gear’s CoolVent neoprene which is designed to wick moisture from the body and provide the wearer with some cushioning.

The edges of the Cloak are covered in fabric for extremely comfortable wear. People of all shapes and sizes have found this holster to be comfortable. The retention side of the holster is a custom-fit hardshell.

The retention and cant of the Alien Gear are both adjustable, as well as the height of the belt clips. Not only does this holster prioritize comfort, but it also allows for a great deal of fit customization.

Positives recap for this product:

  • CoolVent neoprene material is breathable.
  • Holster backing is made from a strong but flexible material with covered edges for comfort.
  • Adjustable retention, cant, and clips.

Negatives recap for this product:

  • It’s the most expensive holster on our list.
  • Some owners have complained that the belt clips are a little too tight.

WALTHER PPS M2 OVERVIEW

The Walther PPS M2 is a great option for concealed carry, especially if you’re not inclined to carry a full-sized pistol. At just 21.1 ounces unloaded, 1 inch wide, and 6.3 inches long, this gun was designed with concealment in mind.

Don’t be fooled by the small package, though. This gun is chambered for 9mm bullets, so it packs the power you’d want in an emergency situation. The PPS M2 comes with three different magazine options, 6, 7, or 8 bullets, to fit any hand size.

The trigger takes just 6.1 pounds of pressure to fire and has a very short travel, only 0.2 inches. These trigger features aid in rapid fire and improved accuracy, both of which are ideal in a concealment weapon.

Safety features of this firearm include:

  • An internal striker so there’s no hammer to unintentionally cock.
  • A cocking indicator so you can easily see if your gun is primed to fire.
  • A trigger safety.
  • A loaded chamber viewport so you can see the cartridge rim if you have a bullet chambered.

This firearm is a great option for smaller-framed people who struggle to conceal a full-sized gun, as well as those who simply prefer to carry a compact weapon.

IWB HOLSTER CONSIDERATIONS

IWB holsters are a great option for concealment, which is why they’re so popular. One drawback with IWB carrying is that with full-sized pistols you usually need to size up the waistband of your pants. However, with a compact gun like the PPS M2 and a streamlined holster, you may not need to size up.

When looking for an IWB holster, consider the position where you’d like to carry. Some holsters are adjustable so you can carry in various positions such as at your kidney or your appendix, while others are specifically designed for a single carrying position or side of the body.

A quality holster, whether IWB, OWB, or any other type, should have some sort of retention to keep the gun holstered until you’re ready to draw. Depending on the holster, this may be a button-down strap, a button you depress to release, or just a tight fit from either well-formed leather or custom-formed Kydex.

The ease of draw is a very important consideration in choosing a holster. The position where you carry should facilitate a seamless draw, and you should be able to release the retention without a struggle.

The ease of concealment is a major factor in selecting an IWB holster. The main purpose of carrying a weapon inside your waistband rather than out is concealment, so the holster you choose should fit your body type in a way that keeps your weapon hidden.

Comfort is also important, especially when you’re carrying IWB. Having a gun tucked tightly against your body can be very uncomfortable if you don’t have the right holster. If parts of the holster dig into your body, you’re more likely to leave it at home rather than carry it.

OTHER GEAR

One other piece of equipment you should consider purchasing is a high-quality gun belt. Regular belts can sag under the weight of a gun and holster. Not only can this be uncomfortable, but it’s more difficult to conceal a low-hanging holster.

A sagging holster can also hinder your ability to draw your weapon in an emergency. Check out our guide on the best gun belts for IWB holsters to help you choose the right one to suit your needs.

CONCLUSION

Walther has gone above and beyond to craft the PPS M2 into an exceptional weapon for concealment, so this gun deserves a great holster. Whether you prefer thermoplastic, leather, or pancake-style, you’re sure to have found the best IWB holster for the Walther PPS M2 on our list.
