The organization known as Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership was formed in 1989 with a focus on educating the Jewish community of what has happened historically when they were disarmed. You don’t have to be Jewish to support the group or believe in what they’re working to achieve.
JPFO welcomes all religious beliefs and people who want to protect the 2nd amendment and work on eliminating strict gun control a term they refer to as “code for disarming innocent people” and I personally couldn’t agree more.
What's the focus?
There are three things this organization focuses on: destroying gun control, exposing misguided notions that lead people to seek out “gun control”, and encouraging Americans to understand the Bill of Rights and the 2nd amendment.
If you’re a gun enthusiast as I’m sure you are then I know this is something you can get behind. Gun control has always been steadily increasing and limiting your ability to exercise your 2nd amendment right. These laws only make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to get guns. A criminal wanting to obtain a gun is going to do it one way or another so why make it more difficult to defend ourselves?
The left-sided media wants you to believe you would be safer with more gun control and this is where a lot of the misguided notions originate from. Let’s be honest here… has making drugs illegal stopped people from using them? No, and it will be the same for guns except laws will prevent the innocent law-abiding citizen from owning the same firepower as a criminal.
JPFO works to combat these restrictive gun laws that only end up harming you and it’s the core of the focus of their organization.
Why Should You Support Groups Like This?
From my own personal perspective, it’s been a hit or miss relying on any politician to put forward laws you’re 100% aligned with. There’s usually some give and take which results in less than favorable results. That’s something you don’t have to worry about when supporting a group like JPFO.
Instead, if we’re supporting groups like JPFO we become a stronger united voice with a focus on topics we’re passionate about. These groups also are much more effective than sitting back and hoping the guy you voted will work towards less gun control.
How can you be involved?
